Product Development Manager

Job Description

Geneva-based R&D company developing the next-generation of wireless audio devices is looking for an electronic and audio product manager to head the development of the product, bring it to industrialization and launch it to market. Candidates will have the role of « Product Development Manager ». He/she will be requested to travel extensively, up to about 60 % of his time, mainly to the USA and Asia (China).

Candidate will be primary responsible for

  • Leadership in the product development
  • Supervision and management of the product development team (10-20 people, essentially engineers)
  • Defining and implementing development process and strategy specifically applicable to the product
  • Defining and leading GTM strategy and activities
  • Supervision of the entire chain of development of the product, including its industrialization and the commercialisation
  • Supervision of the relations with manufacturers and optimization of the manufacturing process

Skills

  • Minimum of 10 year experience with a major consumer electronics brand in product development
  • Experience as a team leader of more than 10 people
  • Experience in launching new products to market and of bringing products to industrialization and to market (specifically headphones, electronics accessories, or personal devices) including copywriting
  • Full Knowledge of and experience with product development strategies and process
  • Mastering audio electronics standards and wireless technology
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
  • Good hands-on skills and intuitive reasoning

Mechanical Designer

Job Description

Geneva-based R&D company developing the next generation of wireless audio devices is looking for a highly skilled mechanical designer to develop and prototype a new range of audio products for the electronics consumer market. The primary focus of the role will be the development of new concepts and prototypes and ensuring that the designs are optimized for tooling and mass production. The person in this role will also be responsible for defining materials and fabrication methods making sure that products comply with all industry standards to their respective markets.
Candidates will have the role of “Mechanical Designer” reporting directly into our product director and site lead in Geneva.

Candidate will be primary responsible for

  • Defining, designing and building prototypes and products from scratch
  • The industrial design of new products from concept to manufacturing
  • Sourcing and managing external contractors for the development of prototypes, tooling, certification, materials and manufacturing methods
  • Collaborate with other members of the development team on new product definition and specification
  • Assess and supervise tool making, injection molding, and manufacturing methods
  • Ensure first class quality by assessing and supervising manufacturing contractors; their methods, materials, and processes
  • Some travel in Europe and Asia required for meetings with manufacturing contractors

Skills and experience

  • A strong portfolio of products that have reached the market
  • Excellent skills in 2D and 3D drawing
  • Expert in CAD, Creo 3.0 required + other drawing and modeling software
  • Familiar with all the 3D printing technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of materials, particularly rubbers and plastics for the injection process, metals and stamping process
  • Familiar with tool making and mass production methods
  • A good understanding of industry standards, approval methods and documentation required for final product approval
  • Fluent English and French with good verbal and written communication
  • Swiss working permit or EU citizen
  • Experience with audio products and consumer products is a strong advantage

Junior Test/Industrialization Engineer

Job Description

Geneva-based R&D company developing the next generation of wireless audio devices is looking for a skilled Junior Test/Industrialization Engineer who will assist with functional testing, analysis and reporting to ensure bug-free functionality as we bring our innovative products to market. The role will also involve setting up test procedures for our new products, from the prototyping/debugging stage through to manufacturing. This will include technical reporting back to the R&D and QA departments in order to optimize our designs. The successful candidate will also share responsibility for the definition of our products’ assembly processes and the acceptability criteria for our products.
Candidates will have the role of “Junior Test/Industrialization Designer” reporting directly into our Quality Lead, on-site in Geneva.

Candidate will be primary responsible for

  • Analysis of products and tests requirements
  • Definition of functional test specifications and process
  • Execution of functional tests to support the development and QA teams at the debugging stage
    1. Functional tests will involve wireless products (WIFI, BT) and mobile devices with the required applications
    2. Typical tests may include system testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, technical architecture testing, security testing, and test automation
  • Mechanical and electronics product assembly and repairs
  • Definition of the assembly process and acceptability criteria for products
  • Analyze data from functional tests and share reporting with the development and QA teams
  • Work closely with the development team to report failures and to understand mechanical, software and hardware fixes
  • Record bugs and issues in accordance with the project's ‘problem management’ strategy and tools
  • Implement the correct steps, documentation, and actions to prevent recurrent QA or industrialization issues
  • Update, improve and maintain product testing/industry standards and procedures
  • Ensure that QA tests are methodically followed and results analyzed/corrected accordingly
  • Collaborate with the application team and QA Manager to resolve any issues that arise in the testing process

Skills and experience

  • Experience with functional tests and QA process
  • Good electronics fault finding skills

  • Product assembly and repairs experience
  • Familiar with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience on acoustics, audio testing and audio calibration an asset
